THE ALCHEMY is an early music trio specialising in the repertoire of early 17th century England, featuring two duelling keyboardists, and a bard. Formed by the connection of Michael Bennett and Maciej Schzrezkowski on their recordings and research into Dr. John Bull, later in order to complete the true sound ideal of the English early 17th century, Mikolaj Kotarski joined as the figure of the “bard”, reciting poetry and singing tenor in original pronunciation from 1569 (John Hart) in the consort songs. The combination of energies, in it self a sort of alchemy, forms the foundation of the trio.
