about

Michael Bennett (born 1998) studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, organ and historic keyboards, and specialises in the repertoire of the 17th Century and improvisation. Recently, he has made recording projects on the independent label “Editions Grandier.” The first project was of music of John Bull (1562 – 1628) at the organ of Oosthuizen (1521), then a project on the music of Heinrich Scheidemann (1595 – 1663) on the Scherer Organ in Tangermünde (1624). Afterwards came a varied program of early 17th century contrapuntal music on the Goltfuz organ in Sassenheim, and then a recording of the Brussels/Antwerp Period of John Bull on the Renaissance organ of St. Jacques Liège. He is a part of the newly formed trio THE ALCHEMY, specialising in early 17th century English vocal/instrumental consort music, performing on organ and harpsichord along with Maciej Skrzeczkowski and Mikolaj Kortarski, with whom they have made a recording project at De Rijkere orgel/Sint Augustinuskerk (1776) in Middleburg.
